I started my music carrier at a very young age learning to play the piano under Mrs. Mary Billimoria. I qualified up to my Licentiate on the Piano. With an opportunity given in Brunei in the Island of Borneo, I was able to learn and teach the Electronic Organ. On my return to Sri Lanka, I started teaching the organ and then completed FTCL in the Electronic Organ. I have performed at many charity concerts in Sri Lanka and in Singapore named “out of Love” at the Singapore National Theatre.
I have been teaching music for the last 30 years. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy it very much. I have been encouraging young artists throughout my carrier to showcase their talents which is aimed at discovering, developing, and promoting the field of music. Taking part in concerts and performances at competitions gives them enormous confidence while listening to others and enjoying a wider range of Repertoire.
In 2020 with the demise of my mother Mrs. Joy Ferdinando I took over all the challenges in these difficult times in carrying on the operations at the Institute. I am continuing as the representative of London College of Music Examinations UK.
