The International Institute of Music, Speech & Drama (IIMSD) was established in 2002 as an independent, progressive, flexible, and student-friendly examining body. While demonstrating steady growth in the fields of Music, Speech, and Drama, the Institute continually strives to introduce innovative teaching methodologies aligned with international standards.
The Institute takes great pride in enhancing the quality of English language education for students from all parts of the island, shaping them into individuals with a strong command of the English language and enabling them to articulate with confidence and ease.
IIMSD conducts examinations at numerous centres across the island, providing equal opportunities for students from diverse regions. As a result, the reputation of the Institute has expanded far beyond the city in which it was founded. The wide choice of curricula enables teachers to develop students’ skills in Music, Speech & Drama, Spoken English, General English, and Oral Communication across all grades and diploma levels.
We are proud to announce that our Speech & Drama Teaching Diploma Syllabus has been approved by the Society of Teachers of Speech & Drama, UK (STSD). The IIMSD Teacher’s Diploma will now be accepted for full STSD membership. Examinations will be conducted once a year and assessed by an examiner from a foreign examination board.
We are also pleased to inform you that a revised Examination Syllabus has been introduced for Spoken English, Speech & Drama, Effective Communication, and Written English in year 2026. Please contact the IIMSD office for further details.
